Hauntings

Residual Haunting: type of haunting in which events in time are re-played over and over again. The entities are not aware of their surroundings or the living people around them and therefore do not interact with their surroundings. It is believed that residual hauntings occur because of a traumatic or emotional event. The result of the event is an imprint of energy which causes the haunting. Because it is an imprint of a certain event, the haunting can be sporadic, such as occurring every 3 months or on specific dates.

Intelligent Haunting: this occurs when the spirit/entity interacts with living humans and their surrounding area. The spirits are believed to be of a deceased human with an emotional attachment to a certain place, object or even person/persons. When investigating, if there is a response to a question an investigator asks, it is usually a result of an intelligent haunting.

Demonic Infestation: the demonic entities in this type of haunting are considered to never have been human, but are very intelligent and interact often with those around them. They exist on a different plane that normal entities that were once human. More often than not, the demonic entity seeks to harm or harass those around them (both physically and emotionally). Demonic possession, where a demon takes over the body of a human around them, is often reported by those experiencing this type of haunting.

Poltergeist Haunting: in this case, a spirit/entity/ghost etc. manifests itself by creating a lot of noise or moving objects around (levitating objects). Most paranormal investigators contribute poltergeist activity to someone within a household that is going through a traumatic event. Due to this, the poltergeist often attaches itself to that one person. Others contribute the activity to demons or the influence of a demonic entity. These hauntings can last for a short amount of time, such as a few weeks, or for years. Poltergeists are usually harmless, but there are some reports of violent activity.
